Ben Jealous, the former president of NAACP, and Bernie Sanders surrogate returns to the show to talk running for governor of MD. He also reflects on the connection between racial and economic (in)justice and the false dichotomy of one or the other. Then we talk to Winnie Wong about the People’s Summit people like Ben Jealous and Bernie Sanders as well as countless organizers will be gathering… Stay tuned for more from there.
Hey Katie! great show, well Ben Jealous certaintly has my respect for going for Bernie, and I agree with alot of what he has to say especially the need for solidarity and building solidarity and referencing MLK Jr’s Poor People’s Campaign. However his hostility to Dr. Jill Stein and the Greens (if he wants to push the lesser of two evils) I see where he’s coming from, but his marginalization of the Greens left me feeling bitter towards him. I’m curious Katie I saw your interviews with Paul Jay and Thomas Frank as i was watching my daily dose of the Real News today, what did you think of the People’s summit and what were your criticisms of it?
